Frequently Asked Questions
What types of organisations do you work with?
We support businesses, SMEs, not‑for‑profits, and community organisations across clean energy, priority industries, critical minerals, regional development, and community impact. Each year, we also back one not‑for‑profit with pro‑bono services for a high‑impact project.
How early should we start preparing for a grant?
Earlier is always better. Four to six weeks is ideal, but major grants need more runway. If you’re on a retainer, preparation happens continuously which is exactly what you want.
Does my idea need to be fully developed before I contact you?
No. You just need a solid idea and the ability to contribute your share of the funding. We help shape the concept, build the structure, and turn it into something funders take seriously..
Do most grants require co‑contribution?
Many competitive grants do. Some are dollar‑for‑dollar, others have flexible ratios. We help you understand what’s required and how to position your funding mix.
Can you guarantee grant success?
We wish — no consultant can. What we can do is strengthen your project, sharpen your strategy, and build a submission that holds up under scrutiny. We currently have a 100% strike rate, so that helps.
What information do we need to provide?
Project details, budgets, organisational documents, and any supporting evidence. We guide you through exactly what’s needed, step by step.
How does pricing work?
All services are priced as ranges. After a short consultation, you’ll receive a fixed, all‑inclusive quote so you know exactly what to expect. If you want our Capability Statement and Pricing Guide, download them from our Services page.
What are the benefits of a monthly retainer?
A retainer keeps you strategically prepared all year. You get priority access, monthly grant scanning, eligibility checks, early project shaping, short form-submissions, and progress reporting and variations included. It reduces fixed fees and positions you for multiple grants not just one.
What if there are no grants open while I’m on a retainer?
Quiet periods are when the real work happens. That’s when we shape projects, build strategy, and line up opportunities so you never miss an upcoming round.
Do you help after a grant is awarded?
Yes. We support you through the full post‑award process including interpreting the grant agreement, clarifying obligations, and helping you negotiate terms where appropriate. We also assist with milestones, progress reports, compliance requirements, and variations. Retainer clients get this included.
Can I use AI to apply for grants myself?
AI can draft text, but it can’t replace the strategy, interpretation, and judgement that make a submission competitive. Strong applications need project shaping, evidence, risk logic, and alignment with what assessors actually look for all of which require expert guidance.
How do we get started?
Use the Contact page and share your idea. If it looks like a good fit, we’ll arrange a complimentary consultation to explore your project in more depth and outline the best pathway forward. Direct contact details are provided once we’re working together.
